SLOMINS-Ripped off and wrongly sent to collection

We purchased a new home that needed an oil tank. We called Slomin's, they sold us the tank on a deferred payment plan. They also had us sign an oil contract. We did, we explained to the Salesperson that we don't use much oil..that was no problem. Oil prices went up, our contract was for 2.52/gal they sent us a letter stating we didn't purchase enough oil, then a nasty woman called and stated that we now had to pay for the tank in full. They then sent us to collection. The collection agency told me to send Slomin's a letter explaining. I received one back from Larry credit manager stating that most residences use 1000 gal a year, we used under 400, send payments to collection agency. I called Larry, he would not even get on the phone with me, he put his rude collctection person on the phone, I explained that the contract I signed did not state a specific amount of oil to purchase, she wouldn't even listen to me; just kept telling me to call the collection agency. We are people who pay our debt. I think this was terrible treatment of a customer. On top of the entire situation the rude collection agent had called at a very bad time when my child who is a Cancer survivor was going for testing. I explained this to her and all she wanted was to demand that I pay the 500.00 I owed for the tank. I am so saddened that this company would treat people in such a terrible manner. I would recommend that consumers not use this company. They do not truly care about the people in this community. The salesman then had the nerve to call and ask if I was still interested in buying an alarm. I plan to make all future purchases from my direct community. Thank you.

Slomins delivered 140 gallons of oil 2 days after my contract expired for $1.20 more per gallon. They could have easily delivered me 135 in the contract time.At the time of delivery i said im not paying the current price take the oil back they refused.

Then refused to adjust the price,i paid the amount in my contract and they took me to collections for the difference. In retrospect they didn't even deserve my payment. I eben offered to split the difference, the rude manager declined my offer.

DO NOT USE SLOMINS FOR OIL. scammers.

Some of these reviews are ridiculous! First of all, Slomin's is family owned, and has been since 1923!!The equipment used by Slomins is cutting edge and up to all industry standards.

Fact: Slomin's employees are thoroughly trained and experienced in all aspects of their jobs. Ive had a slomins system for 12 years and have never had a single problem. Installation was neat and clean, service extremely efficient and their customer service is extraordinary. I also have worked with Christopher Vitale in the oil department and he is sweetheart, knowledgeable and understands his customers needs.

Any one who has not looked at the contract shame on you for not reading the terms and conditions. I use Slomins for heating and security they are #1

All smart consumers shop around. Slomins is in business because their customers don't shop around. They are horrible in the oil industry and they are even worse in the alarm industry.

I would strongly suggest you not to do business with these people.

My fellow New Yorkers deserve better than to be ripped off by a NY company.

If you are in the market to do business with this company. As them if you can read all their contracts first.

They have pages of fine print. This company's goal is to lock you into a contract and force you to pay.

I am just an everyday normal american looking to keep my home safe. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH SLOMINS.

They lock you into a contract and take you to court don't need their service. Their service is horrible and their management is pathetic. Their so called owner married into being the President and has all his *** buddies running the place. This company is owned by investors (NOT FAMILY OWNED).

They know nothing about the oil or security industry. Their techs are union because they know that their company sucks. Their salesman don't have a union because their jackoff HR guy went around and told them not to start a union (which is illegal). Slomins takes hundreds of customers to court and puts liens on their homes.

Slomins also has blatant disregard for any of their employees. The ones that they do care about know nothing. Howie, Chris Vitale, Brian Schmidt all together couldn't manage a Lemonade stand. Which explains why as technology changes Slomins still uses their same old system that has no cell back up unless you pay an extreme extra price plus extra monitoring.

This company is a scam. Look on the internet and do your research. This company's sales have went down and have resorted to try to boost their security and move to GA. Beware Georgia!

These New Yorkers are trying to scam you. This free system is going to run your credit and go after you for 1600 dollars if you don't fulfill the 5 year contract.

It is not transferable either. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!!
