I signed a one year contract with slomin’s in the summer. Got a decent rate.

We purchased a new house and I wanted to transfer my account to the new house. They wouldn’t do it. The current rate had nearly doubled what I was locked in at. So I asked to cancel.

They threatened me with a $500 early termination fee if I don’t send them proof of the sale of the old house. Since everything was in boxes I didn’t have my contract readily available. The early termination fee is in there, however, they could have been decent as a company and let me know my contract period was up in less than two weeks.

I could have canceled the next delivery and been in the clear to cancel without having to do extra paperwork. I would have kept the company if they had transferred the account to my new place Or have been upfront about cancellation date.
